A community is a place where you can develop your personality, confidence and skills. People with disabilities are encouraged to participate in different community activities to develop their social behaviour with other people.

We at Auslife Care aim to provide quality Innovative Community Participation NDIS services to give our participants a quality life. Following the NDIS support for participants’ rules is a must to achieve the providers’ goals. This is why as a committed disability provider, we are sharing this blog for you to understand the importance of the community for elderly and people living with disabilities.

What are Community Participation Examples?

Community participation can be defined as taking part in activities that are important to you and that improve your quality of life. These activities could be social, recreational, educational, or employment-related. They might take place in your local community or online.

These supports can help you to achieve your goals and participate in the things that are important to you.

Here are 4 examples of innovative community participation;

  • Attending a social or recreational activity.
  • Taking part in volunteering.
  • Undertaking further education or training.
  • Starting or maintaining employment.

How Can the NDIS Support Community Participation?

If you are an NDIS participant, you may be eligible for funding to support your innovative community participation. The type and amount of funding you receive will depend on your individual circumstances and goals.

Here are some examples of NDIS supports that can assist with community participation include:

  • Personal care assistance – this could include help with showering, dressing, grooming, and using the toilet
  • Transport assistance – this could include help with getting around your local community or traveling to hospital
  • Mobility equipment – this could include items like wheelchairs, walking frames, and scooters

Community participation is an important part of the NDIS. The scheme provides funding for a range of disability supports and services to help people with disabilities participate in activities that are important to them and improve their quality of life. There are many different ways that community participation can be achieved, and the NDIS can support community participation in a number of ways. If you are an NDIS participant, talk to your planner about the support that is available to you to help you achieve your goals.  Have community access to NDIS after joining our Community Participation Services.
